EGSA Load Bank Certification 

The EGSA Load Bank Certification is an intensive 2.5-day program designed for professionals working with load banks and power generation systems. This hands-on and classroom-based course covers essential topics such as:

  • Load bank calculations, electrical fundamentals, and application
  • Industry codes and standards (NFPA 110, NFPA 70E, AHJ requirements)
  • Best practices and safety protocols
  • Understanding nameplate ratings and test parameters
  • Types of load tests and proper load application
  • Connections, Job site analysis (JSA), and environmental factors
  • Documenting, analyzing load test results , trend analysis, and troubleshooting basic faults

The course includes the current Edition On-Site Power Generation Reference Book and concludes with the EGSA Load Bank performance and written certification exam.

Who Should Attend?

This program is ideal for all technicians, sales personnel, engineers, and professionals involved in generator testing, maintenance, sales, and commissioning. Participants should have a basic understanding of electrical safety, workplace safety (NFPA 70E), NFPA 110 requirements, and generator theory prior to attending. Participants will be performing several load bank tests using resistive / reactive load banks, appropriate PPE, test equipment, generators, and documenting results.
