The Charlie Habic Lifetime Achievement Award

First established in1994 and renamed in 2026, The Charlie Habic Lifetime Achievement Award is given on an as-needed basis to honor an individual who has devoted his career to the betterment of the Association and the industry. This “Member Emeritus” award is given to such individuals whom the Association feels deserve the title of “member for life.” The award is named in honor of Past EGSA President Charlie Habic, whose name has become synonymous with EGSA.

Throughout his time with EGSA, Charlie has served in numerous leadership roles, including President in 2017, Executive Committee member, Board Director, and Chair and Officer of several committees. His contributions have also earned him the Leroy H. Carpenter Award and President’s Award.

Charlie has also played an important role in shaping the EGSA conference experience, serving as an emcee and moderator and helping bring prominent speakers to the EGSA stage, including Lou Holtz, Terry Bradshaw, General David H. Petraeus, Kevin O’Leary, Reggie Jackson, Dr. Michelle Rozen, and President George W. Bush.

The Charlie Habic Lifetime Achievement Award honors his lasting impact on EGSA and celebrates the dedication and service that have defined his involvement with the Association.
