Long-Term Diesel Fuel Storage Best Practices
Dear EGSA D/D Committee Members,
EGSA is currently developing a Long-Term Diesel Fuel Storage Best Practices document focused on helping end users maintain fuel quality and generator reliability throughout extended storage periods.
The initiative is intended to provide practical, defensible guidance around fuel sampling, testing, monitoring and corrective action, while aligning with existing industry standards and guidance. The document is being developed as a best practice—not a code—with the goal of helping address an important gap between fuel quality at delivery and fuel reliability after years of storage.
The Fuels Group recently presented the initiative to EGSA’s Dealer & Distributor Committee at the Fall Conference and is now seeking additional members interested in helping review and pressure-test the working draft from a real-world perspective. We welcome participation from dealers and distributors, generator OEMs, service providers, fuel suppliers, laboratories and others with relevant field experience.
We hope to finalize the participant group by October 1. Members interested in participating or learning more are encouraged to contact any member of the Fuels Group directly to join the working group; a meeting will then be forthcoming:
