Kinsley Power Systems is growing and seeking Generator Technicians to add to our team!

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Perform mechanical and electrical preventative maintenance, diagnostics and troubleshooting with the ability to independently repair units

Conduct weekly rental runs to ensure rental readiness

Prepare units for deployment by conducting check out procedures to ensure generator is set to customer specifications

Outfit rental unit with correct size and quantity of cables

Diagnose problems/troubleshoot, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments

Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of rental power generation equipment (alternator assemblies, engines, automatic transfer switches, switchgear, load banks and control systems)

Reads/interprets equipment manuals, wiring diagrams and work orders to perform maintenance and service

Use a variety of hand/power tools and electrical test equipment in performing duties to detect faulty parts and submit repair quotes electronically

Complete reports, accept assignments, communicate internally and externally via computer-based systems

Manage physical inventory of parts and fluids, as well as computerized inventory system

Travel and transport of tools, supplies and equipment by vehicle and independently to customer sites, including but not limited to: remote wooded locations, elevated locations with only stair access or elevator accessibility, rooftops, farms, waste water treatment plants, and all of Kinsley’s locations throughout the northeast

Practice and comply with all company safety procedures, including but not limited to: Lock Out Tag Out, Arc Flash, PPE and uniform requirements

Adhere to all Federal, State, Local and Company policies, including but not limited to OSHA and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations

Operate a company service vehicle and perform routine inspection on assigned equipment/vehicles

Ability to be part of an on-call rotation in the rental department to provide technical assistance and emergency dispatch of rental generators within the local market and nationally

Assist with training for other Rental Generator Technicians

Participates as a member of the emergency response team within and outside of the company's geographical territory, as required by business needs

Must be able to tow rental generators to and from customer sites and maintain a DOT medical card as required

Other duties as assigned

Education and Qualifications:

Must reside within the posted geographical area or be willing to relocate at own expense

Previous experience working on 8.5kW – 2,500kW generators

Possess an OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (as required by local jurisdiction) or have the ability to attain one

Possess and maintain a current, valid state driver’s license

Possess a current DOT medical card, or have the ability to attain one as required for towing rental generators

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and on call hours as required

Must possess set of standard hand tools and a multimeter

Ability to work in a productive manner in all types of weather conditions and environments

Possess a strong customer service focus with good verbal and written communication skills

Proficient with general computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Outlook.

Previous experience with mobile dispatch software preferred

EGSA certification a plus
