EGSA Embarks On Mission to Track Valuable Member Contributions

Member Achievements Will Be Published and Honored on the Association Website Starting May 2012

Boca Raton, FL -The Electrical Generating Systems Association (EGSA) is pleased to announce that in an effort to track valuable member volunteer contributions, the Association has rolled out a living document on the association website that will track significant contributions made to the Association by its Members.

In the March/April issue of Powerline Magazine, the Voice of the On-Site Power Industry, readers were asked to review a new chart that has been developed to specifically track the volunteered contributions made by Members of EGSA. This chart was well-received by the Members and several edits were made based on Member input.

The campaign is moving forward with the second phase this month, which includes an outreach email campaign to our Members, postings in the Industry News section of Powerline in the May/June issue and the first chart posting and advertisement to the EGSA website. “Once EGSA staff completed the initial research, we began charting the multiple ways that EGSA Members commit their time and give back to the Association. We are now at the stage where we are actively seeking feedback from our Members, “commented Jalane Kellough, EGSA Executive Director. “Whenever you begin charting a course like this, the most positive feedback you can receive comes from shaping the data until it is 100% accurate. Moving forward, it should be easy to maintain, but it’s that first step that is most challenging.”

The Chart includes a Committee Key to assist readers with abbreviations, as well as a few important points which should be emphasized; Committee Officers are not recognized within the chart until after their first year of service and retired Member achievements will not be listed on the current chart. (EGSA Staff is developing a similar chart for our retired Member contributions).

If you are an EGSA Member in good standing and have committed time to the Association in a formalized fashion, we would highly value your input by reviewing the chart: http://www.egsa.org/Portals/7/Documents/Misc/EGSA-Member-Contributions.pdf
