As a LionHeart Generator Field Service Technician (Field Service Engineer), you will work onsite, in the field, and have direct contact with our clients.  You will troubleshoot and perform repairs on large scale and small projects in addition to performing maintenance on our customers’ critical power equipment.  You will be expected to respond to emergency calls and to have the ability to work long hours and under pressure.  This role is unique as it mixes electrical knowledge with engine repair.  Electrical knowledge is a huge plus as we work on three-phase electric, control panels, retrofits, and 480V on a regular basis.  

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Perform regular maintenance on industrial generators, transfer switches, fire pump engines, etc.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and complete needed repairs on equipment
  • Communicate directly with the customer, chief engineers, and office personnel regarding issues, repair recommendations, and other necessary information
  • Work with the Field Service Team and with Administrative Staff on various projects and issues
  • Regularly load, unload, and transport equipment, tools, parts, and other objects to the work site via vehicle, cart, or by carrying by hand up to, and at times, over 130 pounds
  • Hook, unhook, drive, and maneuver a trailer on the highway, in parking lots, city streets, and in alleys
  • On-call availability for emergency calls, after hours, and weekend work
  • Attend continuing education courses as required by company

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 3 years previous field work experience with electrical repairs and issues 
  • Hands on knowledge of engines and motors – preferably diesel
  • Technical degree or certification in a related subject of study

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Experience in an electrical, mechanical, agricultural, or related environment or industry
  • Experience with or understanding of technical or mechanical terminology
  • Must be able to stand and work long hours
  • Overnight and weekend work is often necessary
  • Must be able to lift and carry 130 pounds on a regular basis
  • Must be able to carry equipment, supplies, tools, and other items long distances
