NETWORKING EVENTS

The optional networking events are NOT included in your conference registration and require a separate charge.  You must be registered as a full conference attendee or spouse/significant other in order to participate in any of the activities and you must be registered by the deadline to participate. The majority of activities have a registration limit so sign up quickly before your top choice is sold out. 

NO refunds will be granted for tours and networking events as deposits are pre-paid. You must register by September 12 to participate in an activity.
 

Monday, October 2: Gear Head Tours
 

Time: 3:30 pm - 6:00 pm
Price: $75 per person (limited to 65 people)

Since 1994, their products have delivered innovation to the engine and vehicle industries with natural gas, propane, gasoline and diesel engine control and fuel management systems. EControls designs and manufactures systems that control power – both in engines and electric drives. During the tour, you will get to see first hand what makes EControls an industry leader in fuel systems. Their facilities include high tech manufacturing as well as engine testing equipment A great opportunity to see this solutions provider.

Southwest Research Institute (SwRI), headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, is one of the oldest and largest independent, nonprofit, applied research and development (R&D) organizations in the United States. Founded in 1947, SwRI provides contract research and development services to industrial and government clients. The Institute is governed by a board of directors, which is advised by approximately 100 trustees.

A partial listing of research areas includes antennas and propagation; automation, robotics, and intelligent systems; avionics and support systems; bioengineering; chemistry and chemical engineering; communications systems; corrosion and electrochemistry; earth and planetary sciences; emissions research; engineering mechanics; fire technology; fluid systems and machinery dynamics; fuels and lubricants; and pharmaceuticals and drug discovery. The SwRI tour will include two lab tours. Potential lab tours may include STEP sCO2 Pilot Plant, Robotics, or Space Science.

 

Tuesday, October 3: Networking Activities
 

GOLF TOURNAMENT
Time: 12:30 pm - 6:00 pm
Price: $210 per person 

Enjoy 18-holes of golf at the Hyatt's Hill Country Golf Club which offers 27 holes set on more than 200 acres. The tournament will take place on the championship course using the Creek and Lakes 9-hole courses. Winners will be announced at the Closing Reception. Lunch provided before play begins. On property activity.

 

MARGARITA & SALSA MAKING CLASS
Time: 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Price: $150 per person 

Learn how to make margaritas and salsa in this fully interactive class. You will make salsa from scratch with fresh ingredients and learn all the tips and tricks of how to make the best margarita. Lunch provided before class starts. On-property activity.



PICKLEBALL TOURNAMENT

Time: 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Price: $150 per person 

We welcome all levels of play in our inaugural Pickleball Tournament at Chicken N Pickle (offering indoor courts in case of inclement weather). Enjoy the latest craze with the list of winners announced at the Closing Reception. Equipment, transportation and lunch provided.

 

CLAY SKEET SHOOTING
Time: 12:30 pm - 4:30 pm
Price: $235 per person 

Test your shooting skills using a shotgun to attempt to break clay targets - also known as golf with a shotgun. The activity will take place at the National Shooting Complex and you'll have 50 attempts to hit the targets. Winners announced at the Closing Reception. Equipment, transportation and lunch provided.
